Senior rowing at Peterhouse accommodates a wide range of experience, from students progressing out of novice term to rowers competing for Cambridge and at major national and international events.

Crews are selected according to availability, experience, performance and commitment. Training is adjusted to suit each crew’s goals and racing calendar.

The club aims to help every athlete improve while preserving a constructive, inclusive squad environment.

Water sessions

Technical outings, steady-state work, race pieces, starts and Bumps-specific preparation on the Cam.

Land training

Ergometer sessions, strength work and individual programmes develop the fitness required to race well.

Racing

Senior crews target Lent Bumps, May Bumps, Fairbairns and selected head races and regattas beyond Cambridge.

Racing on and beyond the Cam.

Lent and May Bumps sit at the centre of the college rowing calendar, but they are not the only opportunities to race.

Depending on the season and crew, Peterhouse rowers may also compete at external head races, regattas and Henley.
